Sony Xperia E4 Review

Sony Xperia E4 is a good Android phone launched many years ago, including a comfortable 5 inches display, an exceptional Quad-Core processing unit running at 1.3 GHz, a 5 MP back side camera and a 2 megapixels front camera. But let's get into much more detail.

This cellphone is very slim and practical, but it's not as slim as many other phones currently available, with a thickness of 0.41". Though this cellphone is only 5.39 inches long and 2.94 inches wide, it's able to fit a a 5 inches display. Sony has made an amazing optimization job making this cellphone weight only 5.08 ounces. Sony is offering the Sony Xperia E4 in two different colors: black and white.

Sony decided to equip this cellphone using a very fast 1.3 gigahertz Quad-Core processor, bundled in a Mediatek MT6582 chip and only 1 GB RAM which is a little bit poor for a device of this quality. Graphic intensive games and apps usually eats lots of processing power, so it also has an additional 416 MHz ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU to improve overall performance. A good point of the Sony Xperia E4 is the 8 GB quite large internal memory and an SD extension slot, which allows you to install hundreds of applications and games without any problem.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. It can also shoot videos in 1920x1080 (Full HD) at 30 fps. Additionally, the camera counts with lots of cool features: auto-focus, flash, digital image stabilization, fast burst mode, HDR mode, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This cellphone has a nice 5" screen with a 960 x 540 resolution, providing this cellphone with a very nice image quality. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

This device offers WiFi capability (which it can share with other devices as a mobile hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) connectivity, which is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and fast 3G internet connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. The Sony Xperia E4 uses a Micro SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

This phone features a large 2300 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery, which isn't very much for a phone like this. Sony claims this phone has a 696 hours stand by time and a 12.2 hs talk time. An issue to evaluate is that this cellphone's battery is not replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it starts losing capacity, even though with so much capacity you will probably discard this phone before it becomes an issue.

This cellphone also features a couple nice characteristics as Bluetooth (4.1) and GPS Geolocation, and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

Sony sells this cellphone for $ 249, which is not a really offer for this kind of phone. No matter whether you want this phone mostly for social networks, need it for work or want this cellphone for playing games, you will probably love this cellphone.
