ZTE Max Review

(N9520) Score: 51.9 / 100

ZTE Max is a little bit outdated cellphone released back in 2014, with a huge 5.7-inches capacitive screen, an 8 mega-pixels back camera and a very fast Dual-Core processing unit running at 1200 MHz.

This phone feels much lighter than what you expect from a cellphone of this size. While the ZTE Max is only 6.5" long and 3.25 inches wide, it's able to fit a a 5.7" screen. Although the ZTE Max is very thin it's not so slim as many other phones currently available, with a thickness of 0.4". This phone is for sale in 2 color options, black and gray.

ZTE ships the ZTE Max with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8930 chip, backed up by a very powerful 1200 MHz Dual-Core processor and only 1 GB RAM which is a little bit low for such a solid cellphone. Graphic calculations often uses a lot of processing time, so it also has an Adreno 305 GPU working at 450 megahertz to improve overall performance. The ZTE Max counts with an 8 GB interesting internal storage and a slot for an SD memory card, allowing the user to install hundreds of games and applications without running out of space.

This phone includes a very good 1280 x 720 (HD) 5.7-inches display, giving this cellphone a good graphical experience. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

The ZTE Max provides wi-fi connectivity (which it can provide to other devices acting as a modem or router) and 3G data connection, using EV-DO A technologies. This phone doesn't use a SIM card, because it is not a GSM phone.

This cellphone has only an 8 mega-pixels back camera. It is capable of shooting videos in HD 1280x720. In addition, the camera counts with auto-focus and flash.

The ZTE Max comes with a huge 3200 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that can keep it running for many hours without charging it at all. An issue to evaluate is that the ZTE Max's battery is not removable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to get older, although with its 3200 mAh you will probably discard this phone before it becomes an issue.

This phone also features some nice features such as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone costs about $ 239, which is not a good offer for this type of device.
