Alcatel OneTouch POP 8 is a decently made Android tablet device, having an extremely powerful Quad-Core CPU clocking at 1.3 gigahertz, a good size 8-inches capacitive screen, and two cameras, a 2 megapixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera.
Alcatel equipped this device with an extremely fast 1300 MHz Quad-Core CPU, bundled in a MediaTek MT8382 chip with only 1 GB RAM which is a little low comparing with this tablet's awesome CPU. To help with graphic rendering, it also has an ARM Mali-400 MP1 GPU working at 320 megahertz.
Alcatel made the Alcatel OneTouch POP 8 in black and white. This tablet is just 8.23 inches long, but it's still able to fit a a 8" display. The Alcatel OneTouch POP 8 has an inspired design, with a thickness of just 0.31 inches. This tablet isn't very light for a tablet this size, with a weight of 11.46 ounces.
The Alcatel OneTouch POP 8 includes an average 8-inches display with a 800 x 1280 resolution, making everything look nice. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.
This tablet features two cameras, a 2 megapixels back side camera and a 0.3 MP front camera. this device's back side camera lens has an aperture of f/2.8 so it has serious difficulties taking nice photos in low lighting environments.
The Alcatel OneTouch POP 8 features a great 4100 mAh replaceable battery that can keep it running for several hours without having to charge it at all.
This tablet counts with Wi-Fi connection (but it can't be shared with other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), 4G (HSPA+) data connection, that is not so fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and the fastest 3G data connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This tablet works with a SIM card for GSM networks.
The Alcatel OneTouch POP 8 also includes some useful characteristics as Bluetooth (for communication with other devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and a couple sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
The Alcatel OneTouch POP 8 is not a very good choice considering it is sold for 180 dollars, while many similar tablets can be found for much less money. This device is a very good choice if you want it for playing games.
