Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 Review

64 GB     See other variants reviews Score: 67.9 / 100

Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 is a high quality portable tablet released in October 2014, packing an 8 megapixels back camera, an enormous 8.9 inches display and a high performance 2.5 gigahertz Quad-Core CPU.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 has a wonderful design, with a thickness of just 0.3". This device just has 9.1" long and 6.2 inches wide, but it manages to hold a 8.9 inches screen. Amazon has made an amazing job making the Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 as lightweight as 13.72 ounces.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 ships with a high speed 2500 MHz Quad-Core processing unit, packed into the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 APQ8084 system chip and a huge 2 GB of RAM. This tablet counts with a big 64 GB internal storage memory and while it doesn't come with an SD extension slot, it it is more than enough to install tons of apps, games, pictures and videos without having to worry about filling it.

Amazon packed this tablet with an absolutely amazing 8.9 inches display, and a 1600 x 2560 resolution, making everything look beautiful and brightful. Its display uses LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

This tablet is equipped with only an 8 mega-pixels back-facing camera. It also shoots Full HD 1920x1080 videos. In addition, this tablet's camera also has a couple of interesting characteristics like digital image stabilization, flash and HDR mode.

This tablet counts with wi-fi connection (which it can share with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) high speed internet connection and the fastest 3G internet connection, supported by HSPA and EDGE technologies. This tablet doesn't use a SIM card, because it doesn't support GSM networks.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 also includes a couple of cool features like Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth portable tablets, computers and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and a couple sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Gyroscope.

The Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 costs around 479 dollars, which is not a good offer for comparing with similar tablets. It doesn't matter whether you will use this tablet mainly for social networks and internet browsing, want this tablet to take lots of pictures, will use it as a gaming tablet or want a tablet device for work, you will definitely love this tablet. This device sells with and Quick Start Guide, USB 2.0 cable and 9W Amazon PowerFast charger.
