Lenovo Tab A8 Review

Score: 55.5 / 100

Lenovo Tab A8 is a quite good tablet, which counts with a comfortable 8" touch-screen, a great Quad-Core processing unit clocking at 1.3 GHz, and 2 cameras, a 5 megapixels back camera and a 2 megapixels front camera. Let's take a closer view of what this tablet can do.

Lenovo did an excellent design job making this device weight only 12.7 ounces. Being just 0.35" thick, the Lenovo Tab A8 is very slim and practical. The Lenovo Tab A8 is a very compact tablet, given that it has a 8" screen and it is only 8.54" long and 5.35" wide.

This tablet is equipped with a nice 1280 x 800 8-inches screen, which makes all images and movies look good. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

Lenovo decided to sell this tablet with a MediaTek MTK8121 system chip, packing a very powerful 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little bit low for such a powerful tablet. The Lenovo Tab A8 has a 16 GB quite large internal memory and an external memory card slot, allowing you to store a couple hundred applications without running out of space.

This tablet is equipped with two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 2 megapixels front-facing camera.

This device provides Wi-Fi connectivity (which can be provided to other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G HSPA+ data connection, which is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and fast 3G connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This tablet works with a SIM card for GSM networks.

The Lenovo Tab A8 also comes with a couple of interesting characteristics as Bluetooth and GPS, and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The Lenovo Tab A8 comes with an inmense 4200 mAh Li-Polymer non-replaceable battery that can keep it running for many hours and even reach the end of the day without charging it at all. An issue to take into account is that this tablet's battery is not removable so you can't change it when it begins to have trouble holding its charge, even though with this big battery you will probably buy a new portable tablet before that happens.

Lenovo offers the Lenovo Tab A8 for $ 175, which is expensive for this kind of device. No matter if you want a social portable tablet, want a tablet for work or will use it as a gaming portable tablet, you will definitely be very pleased with it. If you buy the Lenovo Tab A8 you will also receive User Guide, USB Cable, Travel Power Adaptor and Warranty Card.
