Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 Review

Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 is a little bit outdated portable tablet launched in December 2011, packed with a great performance 1.2 GHz Dual-Core CPU, a pretty big 8.2" multi-touch screen, and two cameras, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera.

Motorola decided to design this device using a fast 1.2 gigahertz Dual-Core CPU, packed into a TI OMAP 4430 system chip and 1 GB of RAM memory. To handle graphic calculations, the Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 also uses a PowerVR SGX540 graphic processing unit ticking at 200 MHz. A nice advantage of the Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 is its 16 GB quite big internal storage memory and though it doesn't include a slot for an external memory card, it is enough to store hundreds of applications and games, although it might not be enough if you are planning to install some of the largest games available nowadays or taking tons of photos and videos.

The Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 is only 8.5 inches long and 5.47" wide, but it's still able to fit a a 8.2 inches display. This tablet is extremely thin and stilized, with a thickness of just 0.35 inches. The Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 doesn't feel very lightweight for a tablet this size, weighting 13.62 oz.

This device features two cameras, a 5 megapixels back facing camera and a 1.3 MP front camera. This tablet can also shoot HD 1280x720 videos at 30 fps. This camera also includes flash and auto-focus.

This tablet is equipped with a good 8.2-inches screen with a 800 x 1280 resolution, which makes all pictures and videos look nice. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

The Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 packs an inmense 3960 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that provides this tablet a great battery duration. An issue to take into account is that the Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2's battery isn't replaceable so you can't change it when it starts to lose its charge, though with such a big battery you will probably discard this tablet before that becomes an issue.

This tablet counts with WiFi connectivity (which it can provide to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) fast data connection and 3G internet connection, over EV-DO A technologies. The Motorola Droid XYBoard 8.2 doesn't have a sim card, because it doesn't support GSM services and it can connect to CDMA carriers.

This tablet also includes a couple of nice features as Infrared Port, Bluetooth (provides communication with other devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Compass.

This device is priced about $ 270, not cheap for comparing with other similar tablets. If you want this tablet majorly for internet broswing and social networks, want this portable tablet for work or will use this tablet to play games, this tablet device is probably the correct choice .
