Samsung Galaxy Tab AT&T Review

(SGH-I987) Score: 53 / 100

Samsung Galaxy Tab AT&T is a fair quality Android tablet launched in 2010, packed with a powerful 1000 megahertz processor, a big 7 inches screen, and 2 cameras, a 3 MP back camera and a 1.3 MP front facing camera.

The Tab AT&T comes with a fast processor clocking at 1000 MHz, packed into a Samsung Exynos 3 system chip and 512 MB RAM. Graphic intensive apps often uses lots of processing power, so this device also uses a 200 MHz PowerVR SGX540 graphic processing unit to improve overall performance.

Apparently Samsung forgot about optimizing the weight in this 13.4 oz tablet device. The Tab AT&T is a very compact tablet, taking into account that it has a 7" screen and it has just 7.48" long.

This tablet features two cameras, a 3 mega-pixels back camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. It also films 720x480 videos at 30 frames per second. Additionally, the camera includes flash.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab AT&T has a good 7 inches display with a 600 x 1024 resolution, giving this tablet an average graphical experience. Its display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab AT&T counts with wi-fi connectivity (but it can't provide it to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot) and 3G fast internet connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This tablet uses a SIM card to use GSM services.

This tablet also comes with a handful of interesting features like Bluetooth (for communication with other devices, computers and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and Light Sensor.

The Tab AT&T counts with a 4000 mAh incredible Li-Ion non-replaceable battery that can keep it running for many hours and even reach the end of the day without charging it at all. An issue to evaluate is that the Tab AT&T's battery isn't replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to have trouble holding its charge, although with such a big battery you will probably replace this device before that becomes an issue.

This device is priced 610 dollars, which is expensive for comparing with similar tablets. If you will use this tablet mostly for social networks, you will definitely love this tablet.
