Google Nexus 7 is a good Android portable tablet released some years ago, in 2012, equipped with a 1.2 mega-pixels front camera, a quite big 7 inches screen and a high speed Quad-Core CPU clocking at 1.3 gigahertz. That's all? Not at all, it's just the shortest summary.
Google sells the Google Nexus 7 with a NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30L chip, backed up by a great Quad-Core processor clocking at 1.3 GHz with only 1 GB of RAM which is a bit disappointing for such a powerful device. Graphic intensive applications and games usually eats lots of CPU time, so it also counts with a ULP GeForce GPU running at 416 megahertz to unload the CPU. The Google Nexus 7 counts with anice 16 GB internal storage and though it doesn't count with a slot for an SD memory card, it is enough to install a couple hundred apps, but it probably wouldn't be enough if you are planning to install a couple of the largest games currently available.
It seems like Google didn't care so much about the weight in this 11.99 oz tablet. Although the Google Nexus 7 is very thin and comfortable it's not even close to being one of the thinnest tablets nowadays, with a thickness of 0.41 inches.
This tablet includes a very good 800 x 1280 7-inches screen, which makes all images and videos look very good. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.
The Google Nexus 7 is equipped with only a 1.2 mega-pixels front facing camera.
This tablet provides wi-fi connection (but it can't share it with other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot), HSPA+ 4G connectivity, that is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and the fastest 3G connectivity, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device uses a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.
This tablet also features a wide range of interesting characteristics like Wireless charging capability, NFC, Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS Navigation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.
This tablet features a big 4325 mAh Li-Polymer non-replaceable battery that can keep it running for many hours and even reach the end of the day without charging it at all. An issue to evaluate is that the Google Nexus 7's battery isn't removable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to lose its charge, though with so much capacity you will probably replace this tablet before that happens.
The Google Nexus 7 is really expensive considering it is sold for 269 dollars, and other similar tablet devices cost a lot less than that. The Google Nexus 7 is very appropiate for you no matter if you will use this tablet device to play lots of games, will use this portable tablet for work or are looking for a social tablet device.
