Alcatel OneTouch Idol is an interesting Android cellphone released some years ago, in 2013, featuring a good performance 1 GHz Dual-Core CPU, a medium sized 4.7-inches multi touch screen, and 2 cameras, an 8 megapixels back-facing camera and a 2 mega-pixels front-facing camera.
Alcatel made a great design job making this phone as lightweight as 3.88 oz. This phone has an amazing design, with a thickness of just 0.31 inches. Whereas the Alcatel OneTouch Idol only has 5.24 inches long and 2.66 inches wide, it's able to fit a a 4.7 inches display.
Alcatel equipped this cellphone with a great performance Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1 GHz, packed into a MediaTek MT6577 chip and 1 GB RAM. Helping with graphic rendering, this cellphone also uses a 200 megahertz PowerVR SGX531 graphics processing unit. This phone has a good 16 GB internal memory and an external memory slot, allowing you to install a couple hundred applications and games without running out of space.
This device features two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 2 megapixels front-facing camera. It is also able to shoot videos up to 1280x720 (HD). To complete the camera, it also includes a couple of good features: flash, fast burst mode, auto-focus, geo tagging and HDR mode.
This phone includes a good looking 960 x 540 4.7 inches screen, making everything look vivid. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.
This phone counts with a 1800 mAh medium Li-Ion non-removable battery providing the Alcatel OneTouch Idol with a below average battery duration. This phone has an estimated 7.2 hours talk time and a 410 hs stand by time. An important issue to take into consideration is that this device's battery isn't removable so you can't change it when it begins to have trouble holding its charge, having to buy a new phone to "solve it" or hopefully take it to an expert who can open it and change the battery.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol counts with wifi connection (and it can be shared with other devices acting as a wireless router or modem) and the fastest 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone supports dual SIM cards to be able to to work with 2 different phone lines and even different carriers in the same cellphone.
This cellphone also features a couple of useful characteristics like Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Navigation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol is priced around 155 dollars, not cheap for a phone this level. In case will use it as a social device, this cellphone is probably a great option .
