HTC One max Review

Asia     See other variants reviews Score: 70.8 / 100

HTC One max is an impressive Android phone launched in October 2013, which features an extremely fast Quad-Core CPU speeding at 1.7 GHz, a 5.9" display, and two cameras, a 4 mega-pixels back camera and a 2.1 MP front-facing camera. We will get a better understanding of this device's characteristics when we get into specific details.

Regarding its design, this device is manufactured with Aluminium, which gives a premium design. This device is a bit heavy comparing to other cellphones , with a weight of 7.65 oz. Although the HTC One max is only 6.48 inches long and 3.25 inches wide, it manages to hold a 5.9 inches display. The HTC One max is very thin, while it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones nowadays, with a thickness of 0.41 inches.

The HTC One max includes an astonishing 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) 5.9" display, providing this phone with a great graphic quality. This display uses S-LCD 3 capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

The HTC One max is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T chip, packing a very powerful 1700 megahertz Quad-Core processing unit and a large 2 GB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally eats a lot of CPU time, so this cellphone has an additional Adreno 320 GPU speeding at 400 MHz to help handle those graphic tasks. An amazing aspect of the HTC One max is the 32 GB large internal storage memory and a slot for external memory cards, allowing the user to install tons of apps, games, songs, photos and videos without having to worry about running out of space.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 4 mega-pixels back side camera and a 2.1 megapixels front camera. Its back side camera has an aperture of f/2 so it can shoot detailed photographs even in low light situations. It is also able to film Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 30 frames per second, and HD 1280x720 slow-motion videos at 60 fps (2 times slower than reality). Additionally, the camera includes a couple of interesting features like flash, digital image stabilization, auto-focus, HDR mode and geo tagging.

The HTC One max includes WiFi connection (and it can be provided to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G LTE great performance data connection and also HSPA+ connectivity, which is a lower speed 4G variation and 3G fast connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a Micro SIM card for GSM carriers and it can use both CDMA and GSM.

This cellphone features a 3300 mAh incredible Li-Polymer non-replaceable battery that can keep this cellphone running for several hours without charging it. HTC says this device has a stand by time of 393 hours and a talk time of 28 hours. An issue to evaluate is that the HTC One max's battery is non-removable so you can't change it when it begins to last shorter, although with such a big battery you will probably replace this cellphone before it becomes an issue.

The HTC One max also includes a wide variety of great features like Fingerprint ID, NFC, Infrared Transmitter, Bluetooth (for communication with other devices and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

HTC is selling this cellphone for 275 dollars, which is not very cheap for this kind of cellphone. No matter if you will use it as a social device, you love taking photographs, are looking for a gaming device or need this phone for work, you will probably be very pleased with it.
