Karbonn Titanium Octane Review

Score: 54.4 / 100

Karbonn Titanium Octane is a bit outdated cellphone released back in the year 2014, which counts with a very fast Octa-Core processor speeding at 1700 megahertz, a comfortable 5 inches capacitive touch-screen, a 13 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 5 mega-pixels front side camera. But let's get into a bit more detail.

Karbonn decided to equip this phone with a MediaTek MT6592 system chip, packing an extremely powerful 1700 megahertz Octa-Core processor with only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a bit poor for a phone of this level. Graphic intensive applications generally eats lots of processing time, so this cellphone also counts with a 700 MHz ARM Mali-450 MP4 graphic processing unit to unload the CPU. The Karbonn Titanium Octane counts with aquite big 16 GB internal memory and an SD memory slot, which allows you to install hundreds of apps and games without worrying about space.

The Karbonn Titanium Octane is a very compact device, considering it packs a 5" screen and it is only 5.8 inches long. This device has an amazing design, with a thickness of just 0.3". The Karbonn Titanium Octane is much lighter than what one would expect from a device of this size. This cellphone is sold in 2 color options, black and white.

Karbonn packed this device with a good level 5-inches display, and a resolution of 1280 x 720 (HD), providing this cellphone with a good graphical experience. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This phone is equipped with two cameras, a 13 mega-pixels back side camera and a 5 megapixels front side camera. This cellphone also counts with a few interesting features like flash, auto-focus, face detection shooting, geo tagging and smile detection shooting.

This phone counts with WiFi connectivity (although it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a hotspot), 4G HSPA+ connection type, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and the fastest 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This cellphone comes with two SIM cards to be able to to use 2 different phone lines at the same time.

The Karbonn Titanium Octane also comes with a handful of useful features such as Bluetooth (4.0), GPS Geolocation and FM Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone uses a 2000 mAh medium sized Li-Ion battery, which is not really enough for a demanding phone like this. According to Karbonn, the Karbonn Titanium Octane has an estimated talk time of 5 hours and a stand by time of 250 hs.

Karbonn sells this cellphone for 249 dollars, which is expensive for this kind of device.
