Kyocera Hydro XTRM is a mid-to-low level cellphone launched some years ago, in 2013, coming with a medium 4-inches display, a powerful 1200 MHz Dual-Core processor, and 2 cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 1.3 MP front side camera. Great! That's it? No, it's only the shortest summary in the world.
Kyocera decided to design this cellphone using a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chip, packing a powerful Dual-Core processor running at 1200 MHz. Collaborating with graphic intensive applications, this device also uses an Adreno 225 GPU running at 400 megahertz. This device comes with a 4 GB internal storage memory, a common amount that should be fine for most users considering that this cellphone also has an SD extension slot to store pictures and videos.
This phone's thickness (0.42 inches) is quite far from today's standards, but it still feels comfortable in the user's hand. This phone doesn't feel very lightweight comparing to other devices , with a weight of 4.9 oz. Kyocera is offering this cellphone in black color.
This cellphone features two cameras, a 5 megapixels back side camera and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. In addition, the camera has some good characteristics like auto-focus, flash, geo tagging and face detection shooting.
The Kyocera Hydro XTRM includes a good level 4-inches screen with a 800 x 480 resolution, giving this cellphone a good level graphic quality. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.
This device counts with wi-fi connection (although it can't provide it to other devices acting as a router or modem), LTE (4G) high performance connection type and 3G connectivity, using EV-DO A technologies. The Kyocera Hydro XTRM doesn't use a SIM card, because it isn't a GSM phone and it works with CDMA networks.
This cellphone also comes with a couple of nice characteristics as Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth devices, computers and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This phone is not a good choice considering it is sold for 135 dollars, while some similar phones are offerred way cheaper than that.
