Nokia Lumia 520 Review

Nokia Lumia 520 is a mid-level Windows Phone 8.1, 8 cellphone launched some years ago, in 2013, which features a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera, a 4 inches display and a Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1000 megahertz.

This phone is sold in many different colors: black, yellow, red and white. This phone is very slim and good-looking, with a thickness of just 0.39 inches. This device feels a bit heavy for a phone of this size, with a weight of 4.37 ounces.

Nokia decided to power the Lumia 520 using a great performance 1000 MHz Dual-Core processor, included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8227 system chip with 512 MB RAM. Helping with graphic rendering, this phone also counts with a 450 megahertz Adreno 305 graphic processing unit. This cellphone comes with a quite large 8 GB internal storage and a slot for external memory cards, which allows you to store hundreds of applications and games without worrying about space.

This phone only has a 5 MP back side camera. The Lumia 520 can also capture 1280x720 HD videos at 30 frames per second. The camera also has geo tagging and auto-focus.

Nokia packed this phone with a nice 4 inches screen, and a resolution of 800 x 480 , giving this device a good level image quality. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

This cellphone uses a medium 1430 mAh Li-Ion battery that can keep it running for many hours, although you will probably need to charge it after some moderate use.

The Lumia 520 offers wifi connection (which it can share with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (HSPA+) internet connection, that is not so fast as LTE networks and fast 3G connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device works with a Micro SIM card for GSM connection.

The Lumia 520 also includes some interesting features like Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Geolocation, and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

This phone is not cheap at all considering it is sold for 95 dollars, while other similar phones are sold for much less than that. If you need a cellphone mainly for internet broswing and social networks, you will definitely be very happy with it.
