Samsung Wave II is a decent bada cellphone released in October 2010, having a 5 megapixels back facing camera, a medium 3.7" multi-touch capacitive screen and a fast processing unit ticking at 1 GHz.
Samsung decided to power this device with a Samsung Exynos 3 chip, holding a powerful CPU clocking at 1 gigahertz. Graphic intensive tasks often uses a lot of processor cycles, so it uses an extra PowerVR SGX540 GPU clocking at 200 megahertz to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks.
Even though this cellphone is very slim and comfortable it's not as slim as many other phones currently available, with a thickness of 0.46". It appears that Samsung decided not to care so much about the weight in this 4.76 ounces device.
This cellphone includes a interesting 3.7-inches display with a 800 x 480 resolution, providing this cellphone with a nice graphical experience. This display uses Super Clear LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
The Samsung Wave II counts with wifi connectivity (although it can't provide it to other devices acting as a hotspot) and 3G fast connectivity, using HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a SIM card to use GSM services.
This phone has only a 5 megapixels back-facing camera. It is also able to film videos in HD 1280x720 at 30 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also has some interesting characteristics: auto-focus, flash, smile detection shooting, face detection shooting and geo tagging.
The Samsung Wave II also comes with a few nice features as Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS Navigation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This cellphone uses a 1500 mAh mid capacity Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is not really enough for a consuming device like this. This phone has an estimated talk time of 13.8 hs and a stand by time of 620 hours according to Samsung.
Samsung is offering this phone for $ 399, which is high for comparing with other similar phones.
