ARCHOS 101 XS Review

ARCHOS 101 XS is a not very powerful Android device, which features a high speed 1.5 gigahertz Dual-Core processor and a 10.1 inches capacitive touch-screen. But let's get into a bit more detail.

Being just 0.31" thick,this tablet is incredibly thin and practical. Though this device only has 10.75 inches long, it still manages to contain a 10.1 inches screen. The ARCHOS 101 XS is a bit heavy comparing to other devices , weighting 21.16 ounces.

Archos equipped the ARCHOS 101 XS with a interesting 10.1 inches screen, and a resolution of 800 x 1280 , which makes all images and movies look quite nice.

Archos decided to build this tablet with an extremely powerful 1.5 GHz Dual-Core CPU, included in a TI OMAP4470 chip and only 1 GB RAM memory which is a bit poor considering the ARCHOS 101 XS's powerful processing power. Graphic calculations often consume a lot of processor time, so the ARCHOS 101 XS also has a 384 megahertz PowerVR SGX544 GPU to take some work out of the processor. A good aspect of this tablet is the 16 GB quite big internal storage memory and an external SD slot, allowing you to store hundreds of applications without worrying about space.

The ARCHOS 101 XS features WiFi capability (but it can't be shared with other devices acting as a wireless modem). The ARCHOS 101 XS doesn't use a SIM card, because it's not a GSM tablet.

This tablet doesn't have any cameras.

This tablet also includes a handful of interesting characteristics such as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Navigation, and a few sensors likeAccelerometer and Compass.

Archos is selling the ARCHOS 101 XS for 115 dollars, which is not a good offer for this kind of tablet device.
