Archos is offering this tablet in color black. It appears that Archos forgot about weight optimization in this 16.58 oz tablet device. The ARCHOS 80 Cobalt is slim and looks really nice, but it's not so thin as many other tablets out there, with a thickness of 0.45". Though the ARCHOS 80 Cobalt is only 6.04" long, it still manages to contain a 8 inches screen.
Archos packed this device with a good level 8 inches screen, and a resolution of 768 x 1024 , which makes all pictures and movies look quite colorful and brightful.
This tablet is powered by an extremely powerful 1.6 GHz Dual-Core CPU with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little low for such a solid portable tablet. A nice advantage of this tablet is its quite large 8 GB internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards, which allows the user to store a couple hundred games and applications without running out of space.
This tablet has wifi connection (although it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot). This tablet doesn't use a SIM card, because it doesn't support GSM services.
The ARCHOS 80 Cobalt is equipped with two cameras, a 2 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera.
This tablet is being sold for around 125 dollars, which is a really high price for comparing with other similar portable tablets.
