Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) Review

16 GB     See other variants reviews Score: 60.1 / 100

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is a little outdated tablet released some years ago, in 2012, which counts with a good performance 1000 megahertz Dual-Core CPU, a huge 10.1" display, a 3 mega-pixels back camera and a 0.3 MP front facing camera.

This tablet is extremely slim and stilized, with a thickness of just 0.38". The Tab 2 (10.1) is only 10.1 inches long, but it manages to hold a 10.1" screen. This tablet is a bit heavy comparing with today standards, with a weight of 20.74 oz.

Samsung packed this device with a good level 10.1" screen, and a resolution of 800 x 1280 , providing this tablet with a good image quality. Its screen uses Super PLS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

The Tab 2 (10.1) comes with a powerful 1000 MHz Dual-Core processing unit with 1 GB RAM. A nice point of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is its 16 GB quite large internal memory and an external memory slot, which allows you to install a couple hundred apps and games without worrying about space.

This tablet features two cameras, a 3 megapixels back camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. It is also able to capture videos in HD 1280x720 at 30 frames per second. Additionally, the camera counts with geo tagging.

This tablet counts with a high capacity 7000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that provides the Tab 2 (10.1) an amazing battery duration. An issue to evaluate is that the Tab 2 (10.1)'s battery is non-removable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to last shorter, whereas with so much capacity you will probably discard this tablet before that happens.

The Tab 2 (10.1) has wifi capability (although it can't share it with other devices acting as a wireless router), 4G HSPA+ connection type, that is not as fast as LTE or LTE-A 4G networks and fast 3G data connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA and UMTS technologies. This tablet doesn't use a sim card, because it doesn't support GSM networks and it can connect to CDMA networks.

This device also comes with a few useful features such as Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

Samsung is offering this device for $ 329, which is high for comparing with other similar tablets. If you want this portable tablet mainly for social networks, are an amateur photographer, need this device for work or will use this tablet to play games, this device is probably the correct option .
