Apple iPhone 3G is a mid level iOS phone launched some years ago, in 2008, including a good 412 MHz processor, a 3.5-inches display and a 2 mega-pixels back facing camera. Is that all? Not at all, it's only the introduction of this in-depth review.
Apple decided to design the iPhone 3G using a powerful 412 megahertz CPU and as little as 128 MB RAM memory. A nice aspect of the Apple iPhone 3G is the 8 GB quite large internal storage memory and while it doesn't include a slot for an external memory card, it is enough to store hundreds of applications, although it may not be suitable if you are planning to install some of the heaviest games currently available.
Apple made the iPhone 3Gavailable only in two color options, black and white. Apparently Apple forgot about optimizing the weight in this 4.7 oz cellphone.
Apple packed this phone with a nice 3.5" screen, and a 480 x 320 resolution, which makes all images and movies look quite vivid. This screen uses LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.
The iPhone 3G has WiFi capability (although it can't provide it to other devices as a mobile hotspot) and fast 3G data connection, supported by HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a SIM card for GSM connection.
This device only features a 2 MP back facing camera.
This phone also features a couple of nice characteristics as Bluetooth (2.0, EDR) and GPS Navigation, and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.
This phone has a poor capacity 1150 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that provides this phone a poor battery lifecompared to other cellphones. According to Apple, this phone has a reported 10 hours talk time and a 300 hs stand by time. A key issue to consider is that the iPhone 3G's battery is non-replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to lose its charge, making it necessary to change the whole device.
The Apple iPhone 3G is not a very good choice considering it is offerred for $ 440, while other similar phones can be found for much less money.
