Archos 50 Diamond Review

Archos 50 Diamond is an interesting Android cellphone, which counts with a comfortable 5 inches screen, a very powerful 64 bit Octa-Core processor (actually, it has a Quad-Core speeding at 1500 MHz and a Quad-Core ticking at 1 GHz), a 16 mega-pixels back facing camera and an 8 mega-pixels front-facing camera. That's all? No, it's only the starting point.

Archos decided to sell this device with an extremely fast 64-bits Octa-Core CPU (actually, there is a Quad-Core speeding at 1500 MHz and an additional Quad-Core at 1 GHz), included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip and a large 2 GB RAM. To handle graphic intensive tasks, it also counts with an Adreno 405 graphic processing unit working at 500 megahertz. A good advantage of the Archos 50 Diamond is its 16 GB quite big internal storage memory and an external memory slot, allowing you to store a couple hundred games and apps without any problem.

This cellphone is available in 2 colors, black and yellow. Archos made an amazing optimization job making the Archos 50 Diamond as lightweight as 5.01 oz. This device is only 5.75 inches long, but it still manages to hold a 5" display. Being just 0.31" thick,this device is incredibly thin and practical.

Archos designed this device with a gorgeous 5" display, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD), giving this cellphone a high level image quality. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This device features two cameras, a 16 megapixels back facing camera and an 8 mega-pixels front-facing camera. The Archos 50 Diamond can also film 1920x1080 Full HD videos at 30 fps. In addition, the camera counts with auto-focus and flash.

This phone has a 2700 mAh big Li-Polymer non-removable battery, enough to provide this phone with an extremely long battery life. An issue to take into consideration is that the Archos 50 Diamond's battery is non-removable so you can't throw it away and buy a new one when it begins to get older, even though having 2700 mAh you will probably discard this cellphone before it becomes a real problem.
