ARCHOS 53 Titanium is a mid-end cellphone, counting with a very powerful Dual-Core CPU running at 1.3 GHz, a comfortable 5.3-inches touch-screen, and two cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera.
Apparently Archos didn't care so much about the weight in this 7.05 oz cellphone. This phone is only for sale in black color. This cellphone's thickness of 0.4 inches is a bit far from current standards, but it still feels fine in the hand. This phone is a compact phone, taking into account that it features a 5.3 inches screen and it's only 6.01 inches long and 3.02 inches wide.
Archos equipped the ARCHOS 53 Titanium with a nice 5.3" display, and a resolution of 854 x 480 , which makes everything look good. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.
This phone ships with a MediaTek MT6572 chip, including an extremely fast Dual-Core processor speeding at 1.3 gigahertz and only 512 MB of RAM memory which is a bit disappointing for such a powerful device. Graphic rendering generally consume a lot of CPU time, so it also has an extra 500 MHz ARM Mali-400 graphic processing unit to unload the processor.
The ARCHOS 53 Titanium is equipped with two cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 0.3 megapixels front side camera. It is also able to shoot videos up to 1280x720 (HD). To complete the camera, it also features flash and auto-focus.
This phone packs a great 2100 mAh removable battery, which isn't too much for a device like this.
This cellphone has WiFi capability (and it can share it with other devices around, acting as a router or modem), HSPA+ (4G) connection type, which is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and fast 3G connectivity, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. The ARCHOS 53 Titanium comes with two SIM cards so it is able to use 2 different phone numbers or carriers at the same time.
This cellphone also comes with a handful of useful characteristics like Bluetooth (3.0, EDR) and GPS Geolocation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
The ARCHOS 53 Titanium is very overpriced considering it is sold for $ 155, and some similar cellphones are offerred way cheaper than that.
