Asus PadFone Review

Asus PadFone is a good quality cellphone released some years ago, in 2011, featuring a medium sized 4.3 inches touch-screen, a high speed Dual-Core processing unit running at 1.5 GHz, and two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back side camera and a 0.3 megapixels front facing camera. Let's take a better sight of what this cellphone offers to us.

Asus decided to power this cellphone with an exceptional 1500 MHz Dual-Core processing unit, packed into a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8260A system chip with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little bit poor considering its great processing power. Graphic intensive games and apps generally eats lots of CPU time, so it also also has an Adreno 225 GPU working at 400 megahertz to help the CPU with those tasks. A great advantage of the Asus PadFone is its big 32 GB internal storage memory and an external SD slot, allowing the user to store lots of apps, games, pictures and videos without thinking about filling the device.

This phone feels a bit heavy comparing to other phones , weighting 4.55 ounces. The Asus PadFone is just 0.36" thick, taking it to the thinnest phone's category.

Asus designed the Asus PadFone with a nice 4.3-inches screen, and a 960 x 540 resolution, which makes everything look vivid. This screen uses Super AMOLED capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

This phone offers wifi connection (but it can't be provided to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), 4G (HSPA+) internet connection, which is not as fast as LTE networks and 3G fast connectivity, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone works with a SIM card for GSM services.

This device is equipped with two cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front side camera. It also captures 1920x1080 Full HD videos at 30 fps. In addition, this device's camera also has flash.

This phone also includes a handful of useful features as Bluetooth and GPS, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This cellphone packs a 1520 mAh medium Li-Ion removable battery that provides this device a quite short battery life. Asus claims this cellphone has a 10.8 hours talk time and a 373 hs stand by time.

This device is not cheap at all considering it is sold for 600 dollars, while many similar devices can be found for much less money. If you want a social cellphone or will use it for playing games, you will definitely be very satisfied with it.
