HTC ChaCha Review

Score: 49.2 / 100

HTC ChaCha is a decently made cellphone launched some years ago, in 2011, including a powerful CPU speeding at 800 megahertz, a compact 2.6-inches multi touch screen, and two cameras, a 5 megapixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. Is that all? No, it's only the shortest summary in the world.

HTC decided to equip this phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227 chip, backed up by a quite powerful processor running at 800 MHz with 512 MB of RAM. Graphic intensive tasks usually eats a lot of processing time, so it counts with a 128 MHz Adreno 200 GPU to help with that calculations.

This time, it seems like HTC decided not to care much about the weight in this 4.23 oz phone. The HTC ChaCha isn't really a compact phone, taking into consideration it is 4.5" long, but it only packs a 2.6 inches screen. Even though the HTC ChaCha is very thin and comfortable it's not as slim as many other devices out there, with a thickness of 0.42 inches.

This phone has a good level 320 x 480 2.6-inches screen, which makes it hard to distinguish the pixels composing the screen.

This phone provides wifi connectivity (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a router) and 3G fast connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The HTC ChaCha works with a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

This phone has two cameras, a 5 megapixels back facing camera and a 0.3 megapixels front side camera. To complete the camera, it also features auto-focus and flash.

The HTC ChaCha also includes some nice characteristics such as Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This device comes with a 1250 mAh mid capacity Li-Ion removable battery that can keep this device running for many hours, but you may need to charge it after some moderate to heavy usage. HTC reports a 7 hours talk time and a 430 hours stand by time for this phone.

This phone is priced about 335 dollars, which is not a good offer for this kind of cellphone.
