Huawei Ascend G300 is a decent phone launched in February 2012, which counts with a 5 MP back side camera, a 4" multi-touch capacitive display and a good performance CPU ticking at 1 GHz. Is that all? Not at all, it's just the starting point of this in-depth review.
Huawei sells the Huawei Ascend G300 with a powerful 1 gigahertz processor, packed into a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A system chip with 512 MB RAM. Graphic rendering generally consume lots of CPU cycles, so this phone uses an extra Adreno 200 (enhanced) graphic processing unit speeding at 200 megahertz to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks.
The Huawei Ascend G300's thickness , 0.41", is a bit far from current standards, but it still feels fine in the user's hand. It seems like Huawei decided not to care much about the weight in this 4.94 ounces cellphone.
The Huawei Ascend G300 is equipped with only a 5 megapixels back side camera. In addition, the camera includes a couple of interesting characteristics like flash, geo tagging and auto-focus.
This cellphone includes a good level 800 x 480 4-inches screen, which makes everything look very good. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.
The Huawei Ascend G300 packs a 1350 mAh medium sized Li-Ion removable battery, which is not really enough for a thirsty phone like this. This cellphone has an aproximate 5.3 hs talk time and a 320 hours stand by time.
The Huawei Ascend G300 offers WiFi connectivity (although it can't be provided to other devices as a mobile hotspot) and 3G fast data connection, using HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.
This cellphone also comes with some useful characteristics like Bluetooth and GPS Localization, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
The Huawei Ascend G300 is priced about 165 dollars, a really high price for this type of cellphone.
