NIU Niutek 3.5D Review

Score: 43.7 / 100

NIU Niutek 3.5D is a bit outdated Android phone, which features a 2 megapixels back-facing camera, a powerful Dual-Core CPU speeding at 1000 megahertz and a medium sized 3.5-inches display. Great! That's it? No, it's just the beginning of this in-depth review.

NIU made a great design job making this phone weight only 3.81 ounces. Even though this device is 4.65" long and 2.46" wide, it only holds a way smaller 3.5" display. This cellphone is quite thick compared to nowadays cellphones, with a thickness of 0.53". This phone is for sale in a wide range of colors like black, yellow, green, blue and white.

NIU equipped the NIU Niutek 3.5D with a good 3.5 inches display, and a resolution of 480 x 320 , providing this cellphone with a mid level graphic quality. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

This phone is equipped with a Mediatek MT6572 chip, holding a powerful 1000 megahertz Dual-Core processor with only 256 MB of RAM memory. Handling graphic calculations, this device also has an ARM Mali-400 GPU working at 500 MHz. The NIU Niutek 3.5D has a poor 524,29 MB internal storage memory, which may be adequate for basic users considering it also has an SD memory slot to store photographs and videos.

This phone includes WiFi capability (and it can share it with other devices as a mobile hotspot), 4G HSPA+ connectivity, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and the fastest 3G connectivity, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device has 2 SIM cards to be able to to work with 2 different phone numbers at the same time.

This cellphone only has a 2 MP back camera. It is also able to film videos in 640x480 (VGA) at 30 fps. This camera also counts with a couple of nice characteristics like face detection shooting, flash and HDR mode.

The NIU Niutek 3.5D also includes a few nice features like Bluetooth and GPS Geolocation, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The NIU Niutek 3.5D counts with a mid sized 1400 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that provides this cellphone a not very long battery duration comparing with other similar devices. NIU reports a stand by time of 620 hs and a talk time of 15 hs for this device.

NIU is offering the NIU Niutek 3.5D for 155 dollars, which is a really high price for a device this level.
