Plum Velocity II Review

(X260) Score: 43 / 100

Plum Velocity II is a modest Android cellphone, coming with a great performance 1000 megahertz CPU, a little 2.6" touch-screen, a 3 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera.

Even though this cellphone is as big as 4.35" long and 2.54" wide, it only comes with a smaller 2.6" screen. Plum forgot about weight optimization in this 6.7 oz cellphone, much heavier than other similar phones. This phone is for sale in multiple colors, black, blue, red and white.

Plum decided to build this cellphone with a good performance 1000 megahertz processing unit, packed into the Mediatek MT6575M system chip and 512 MB RAM. Graphic rendering generally consume lots of CPU time, so this phone has an additional 200 MHz PowerVR SGX531 GPU to help with that calculations. The Plum Velocity II has a 524,29 MB internal storage memory, a mediocre amount that could be enough for some basic users knowing that it also has an external SD slot to store songs, photographs and videos and even some applications that can be installed in the external memory.

Plum packed this cellphone with a good looking 2.6 inches display, and a resolution of 320 x 480 , which makes everything look very nice. This display uses LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

The Plum Velocity II counts with wi-fi connection (which can be provided to other devices acting as a mobile hotspot) and 3G data connection, using UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Plum Velocity II comes with two SIM cards to be able to to use 2 different phone lines at the same time.

This phone has two cameras, a 3 megapixels back side camera and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. Additionally, this device's camera also features a couple of good characteristics like flash, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This phone also features a couple of useful features like Bluetooth (enables communication with other devices and accessories) and GPS Localization, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone has a poor 1200 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that provides the Plum Velocity II a not very long battery lifecompared to other cellphones. This cellphone has an estimated stand by time of 200 hours and a talk time of 5 hours.

This phone is not cheap at all considering it costs 85 dollars, while other similar phones are a lot cheaper than that.
