T-Mobile Sidekick 4G is a fair quality phone, which features a 3.5" multi-touch screen, a fast 1 GHz processor, and 2 cameras, a 3 mega-pixels back side camera and a 0.3 MP front camera. But let's get into some more detail.
The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G is powered by a great performance processing unit running at 1 GHz, bundled in the Samsung Exynos 3 system chip with 512 MB RAM. Graphic calculations generally eats a lot of processor cycles, so it also uses a PowerVR SGX540 graphic processing unit clocking at 200 MHz to help handle those graphic tasks.
Although this cellphone has 5" long and 2.42" wide, it only comes with a way smaller 3.5 inches display. This phone is a bit thick for today's standards, being as thick as 0.6 inches. Apparently T-Mobile totally forgot about weight optimization, putting together a 5.7 ounces phone.
This phone includes a good level 3.5" display with a 800 x 480 resolution, providing this device with a nice graphical experience. Its display uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.
This cellphone has two cameras, a 3 MP back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front-facing camera. The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G can also capture 720x480 videos at 30 frames per second.
The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G comes with a mid sized 1500 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is quite low for a phone like this. T-Mobile reports a stand by time of 456 hours and a talk time of 6.5 hs for this device.
The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G counts with Wi-Fi connection (and it can be shared with other devices around, acting as a wireless router or modem), 4G (HSPA+) data connection, which is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and fast 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a SIM card for GSM services.
The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G also comes with a handful of interesting characteristics such as Bluetooth and GPS, and a couple sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.
This cellphone is not very convinient considering it is priced 100 dollars, and other similar cellphones are being sold for much less than that.
