Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is an incredible Android device released some years ago, in 2013, counting with a high speed Quad-Core processor running at 1.6 gigahertz, a pretty big 8 inches multi-touch screen, a 5 mega-pixels back side camera and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. But let's get into more details.
The Note 8.0 feels much lighter than what one would expect from a portable tablet of this size. The Note 8.0 just has 8.3" long and 5.35" wide, but it still manages to hold a 8" screen. The Note 8.0 is just 0.31 inches thick, making it one of the thinnest tablets nowadays.
The Note 8.0 is equipped with a Samsung Exynos 4 Quad (Exynos 4412) chip, backed up by a high performance 1600 MHz Quad-Core processor and a large 2 GB RAM memory. Collaborating with graphic intensive apps and games, it also counts with a 266 MHz ARM Mali-400 MP4 GPU. A nice point of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is its 16 GB quite large internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards, enough to install a couple hundred games and apps without any problem.
Samsung equipped this tablet with a interesting 8-inches screen, and a 800 x 1280 resolution, which makes all images and videos look quite good. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.
This device is equipped with two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. It is capable of shooting videos in HD 1280x720 at 30 frames per second. In addition, the camera features a couple of good characteristics: auto-focus, geo tagging and smile detection shooting.
This tablet has Wi-Fi connection (but it can't be provided to other devices around, acting as a hotspot), HSPA+ 4G connectivity, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and 3G fast data connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This tablet uses a SIM card for GSM networks.
This device comes with a 4600 mAh big capacity Li-Ion non-removable battery, enough to provide the Note 8.0 with an amazing battery life. An issue to consider is that this tablet's battery isn't replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it begins to get older, even though with such a big battery you will probably replace this device before it becomes an issue.
This device also features a couple of interesting features as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Geolocation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
Samsung sells the Note 8.0 for 285 dollars, which is not a really offer for a portable tablet this level. If you want this portable tablet to take tons of photographs, are looking for a tablet mainly for internet broswing and social networks, need a work tablet device or will use it as a gaming tablet, you will definitely be very pleased with it.
