HP Slate 8 Pro Review

HP Slate 8 Pro is a mid level tablet, coming with a very fast Quad-Core processor running at 1800 MHz, a 8 inches touch-screen and an 8 MP back camera. We will get a better understanding of this portable tablet's characteristics when we get into specific details.

This tablet is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 4 T40 chip, holding a high performance Quad-Core processor clocking at 1800 MHz with only 1 GB of RAM which is a little disappointing for a tablet this good. A nice advantage of the HP Slate 8 Pro is its 16 GB quite big internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards, which allows the user to install a couple hundred applications and games without any trouble.

This tablet is a bit heavy comparing with today standards, with a weight of 15.91 oz. This tablet is very thin and comfortable, being just 0.39" thick. The HP Slate 8 Pro is a very compact portable tablet, given that it packs a 8 inches screen and it has just 8.66 inches long.

This tablet is equipped with only an 8 megapixels back facing camera. The camera also includes some interesting characteristics: flash, HDR mode and auto-focus.

HP packed the HP Slate 8 Pro with a good looking 8 inches screen, and a 1200 x 1600 resolution, which makes all images and videos look beautiful. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

The HP Slate 8 Pro offers Wi-Fi capability (although it can't share it with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot). This tablet doesn't use a sim card, because it is not a GSM tablet.

This device also comes with a couple interesting characteristics like Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This tablet is not very cheap considering it is priced 139 dollars, while many similar tablets are being sold much cheaper than that. HP packs the HP Slate 8 Pro with AC adapter, USB cable, documentation and plugs.
