Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Review

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 is a mid-end Android portable tablet, packing a good performance 1000 megahertz processing unit, a 4.2-inches touch-screen, a 2 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. That's everything we have to say? Not at all, it's only the beginning of a detailed review.

Samsung justmade this device in white color. It seems like Samsung forgot about weight optimization in this 4.16 oz portable tablet. This tablet has a gorgeous design, with a thickness of just 0.35".

Samsung packed this tablet with a good level 4.2" display, and a 800 x 480 resolution, which makes it hard to see the pixels composing the display. Its display uses TFT capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

Samsung equipped the Player 4.2 with a powerful 1 gigahertz processing unit with 512 MB of RAM memory. A nice advantage of this tablet is its big 8 GB internal storage memory and a slot for an SD memory card, which allows the user to install a couple hundred applications without worrying about space.

The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 is equipped with two cameras, a 2 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front side camera. It can also capture videos up to 640x480 (VGA).

This tablet offers wi-fi capability (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a hotspot). This tablet doesn't use a sim card, because it is not a GSM tablet.

This tablet uses a 1500 mAh medium Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is quite low for a demanding tablet like this.

This device also comes with a couple of cool characteristics like Bluetooth (3.0) and GPS Localization, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

Samsung sells this tablet for 119 dollars, which is a very high price for a portable tablet this level.
