Acer Iconia A3 Review

Acer Iconia A3 is a good tablet, packing a huge 10.1-inches touch-screen, a high-tech 1.2 GHz Quad-Core CPU, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front side camera. But let's get into a bit more details.

This device feels much lighter than what you expect from a device of this size. This device is thin and practical, while it's not close to being one of the thinnest tablet devices out there, with a thickness of 0.4". This tablet is just 10.24 inches long, but it is still able to fit a a 10.1 inches screen.

This tablet includes a good level 10.1 inches screen with a 800 x 1280 resolution, giving this tablet an average graphical experience. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, with a brightness of 350 candela/m² and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

This tablet ships with a high performance 1.2 gigahertz Quad-Core CPU, packed into the MediaTek MT8125 system chip with only 1 GB of RAM which is a bit low comparing with its powerful processing power. Helping with graphic rendering, it also counts with a PowerVR SGX544 GPU ticking at 200 MHz. A good point of this tablet is the 16 GB quite big internal storage and an SD memory slot, allowing the user to store a couple hundred apps and games without worrying about space.

The Acer Iconia A3 features two cameras, a 5 megapixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front side camera. This tablet also films videos in Full HD 1920x1080.

The Acer Iconia A3 has a big capacity 3540 mAh Li-Polymer removable battery providing this tablet an incredible battery life.

This tablet has wifi connection (although it can't provide it to other devices as a mobile hotspot) and fast 3G connection type, using HSPA and EDGE technologies. This tablet doesn't have a sim card, because it doesn't work with GSM services.

This device also includes some useful features such as Bluetooth (enables communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS, and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

Acer offers this device for 235 dollars, which is expensive for a tablet this level. It doesn't matter whether you want a social tablet or want a portable tablet to play tons of games, you will probably love this tablet.
