Apple iPad 2 is an interesting iOS tablet launched some years ago, in 2011, with a big size 9.7" multi-touch screen, a great performance 1 gigahertz Dual-Core processor, and two cameras, a 0.7 mega-pixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front camera. Is that all? Not at all, it's only the introduction of this extreme review.
This time, it seems like Apple forgot about weight optimization in this 21.62 ounces portable tablet. The Apple iPad 2 is only 9.5" long and 7.31" wide, but it's still able to fit a a 9.7 inches screen. Being just 0.34 inches thick, this device is very thin and stilized. This device is offerred in 2 colors, black and white.
Apple decided to design this tablet using a powerful 1 gigahertz Dual-Core processor, packed into an Apple A5 chip and 512 MB RAM. Graphic calculations generally eats a lot of processing time, so it uses an extra 200 megahertz PowerVR SGX543 MP2 graphic processing unit to improve overall performance. An excellent aspect of the iPad 2 is the 32 GB inmense internal storage memory and while it doesn't include an external memory slot, it it is more than enough to install tons of applications, games, songs, pictures and videos without worrying about running out of space.
The iPad 2 has two cameras, a 0.7 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front side camera. It is also able to shoot videos up to 1280x720 (HD) at 30 frames per second.
Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.
This tablet includes wi-fi capability (but it can't be shared with other devices around, acting as a wireless modem) and the fastest 3G connection type, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The iPad 2 uses a Micro SIM card for GSM connection.
The iPad 2 also comes with a handful of interesting characteristics like Bluetooth (for communication with other tablets, computers and accessories) and GPS, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.
The iPad 2 has a 6944 mAh great Li-Polymer non-replaceable battery, enough to provide this device with an impressive battery life. An issue to evaluate is that this tablet's battery is non-removable so you can't change it when it begins losing capacity, though with such a big battery you will probably discard this device before that becomes a real problem.
The Apple iPad 2 is very expensive considering it costs $ 285, while many similar tablets cost much less than that. The iPad 2 is probably a very good choice for you it doesn't matter whether you want a portable tablet for gaming, are looking for a tablet to mostly use social networks and internet browsing or need it for work. When you buy the iPad 2 you also receive Dock Connector to USB Cable and 10W USB Power Adapter.
